Air Cargo Containers / ULD Containers

Air Cargo Containers, or more technically known as ULD Containers or as a Unit Load Device, is a regulated pallet or container that is used to load passenger freight, cargo, parcels, mail and more on wide-body aircraft and specific models of narrow-body aircraft. The use of ULD Containers allows for larger volums of cargo to be bundled into a single unit. Since this reduces the potential number of units to load, it aides in increasing operations efficiencies in busy operations such as freight terminals, airports, tarmacs and more! The increased operations efficiencies assist in preventing flight delays, speeding up air worthiness checks and saves ground crews precious time.

Since the inception of Granger Plastics, the rotomolding company has been heavily involved in a wide number of aspects of the aerospace industry, including producing over 10,000 custom air cargo containers for a major international parcel delivery carrier, who insists that the Granger Unit Load Devices provide them the lowest total cost of ownership amongst comparable ULD containers. LD 2 Air Cargo Containers

LD 2 Containers are an integral part of the airline, small parcel and aerospace industry. Commonly known by their IATA ULD Codes of DPE and DPN, the LD 2 Air cargo containers are half-width lower hold containers that feature one angled side. LD 2 Containers are suitable for use on a variety of wide-body Boeing aircraft including 747’s, 767’s, 777’s and 787 lower holds.

LD 8 ULD Containers are full-width, lower deck ULD Containers, commonly referred to by their IATA ULD Codes of DQF and DQN. The containers are often used for large or heavy cargo, as the LD 8 Air Cargo Containers feature a maximum gross weight of 5,400 pounds. The lower-deck ULD Container is suitable for use in Boeing Wide-body 767’s and 787’s.
